Jun. 7th, 2017 10:58 pm“Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear." - Harry S. Truman, special address to Congress on internal U.S. security, August 1950

Jan. 1st, 2017 10:43 pm"Perhaps the chief requirement of [the conductor] is that he be humble before the composer; that he never interpose himself between the music and the audience; that all his efforts, however strenuous or glamorous, be made in the service of the composer's meaning - the music itself, which, after all, is the whole reason for the conductor's existence." - Leonard Bernstein
Today's Bill Engvall Moment
Dec. 12th, 2016 08:11 pmFor the last week or so, we've had tamales for sale. We even have signs up saying we have tamales for sale. There's even a sign on our counter that says we have tamales for sale. Yesterday, a woman walked up, pointed at the sign, and said, "You have tamales?" I wanted to say, "No, we just love that picture. That's why we have it there!"
Heeeeeeeeeere's your sign.
Heeeeeeeeeere's your sign.

Sep. 24th, 2016 09:40 pm“However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.” - George Washington

Before I tell you who he is, let me give you some clues.
He's blue.
He's cute.
He's fast.
He's a furry.
Any ideas?
Okay. Here's a hint: Chili dog.
Need another? Okay. Red and white shoes.
That's right! Sonic the Hedgehog is 25 years old today! Happy birthday, Sonic!

Disney package features
Apr. 25th, 2016 07:29 amYou know, I honestly don't give a shit if some people consider Fun and Fancy Free among the worst Disney movies ever. Seriously, what's so bad about it? Is it the fact that it was produced during a time when the Disney studio had much of its staff away at war when there were a lot of ideas laying around?

I'm so saddened to hear of Merle Haggard's passing. He was my very favorite country artist. I'll forever be thankful that I got to see him perform live back in 2005. http://marauderosu.livejournal.com/129191.html
